Seven Killings and Direct Resource: A Classic Pair in Context

Seven Killings and Direct Resource are a classical pair, 杀印相生, because resource can control the killing star and give it a use: study, a procedure, a mentor, a credential that holds pressure. On an English chart the names are Seven Killings (七杀) and Direct Resource (正印), the second also called the Proper Seal in older books. Together they are professional guidance about two gods, and they are not a guarantee of rank.

Seven Killings is same-polarity control of the day master. Direct Resource is opposite-polarity production of the day master. The pair is special when resource stands where it can restrain that killing, not whenever both words appear somewhere in a life.
“Transform” in classical speech means the pressure is read through support, so the chart is not left with raw killing and no method. It does not mean a hard boss becomes kind.
Volume matters. Main qi in the month outweighs a residual trace. A killing structure with a visible seal is a different sentence from a seal structure with a hidden killing.
The full chart shows hidden stems, structure, and clashes that can damage the pair. The light chart shows the gods only when the stems are exposed. Do not declare the pair from a memory of the animals.

A pair is not a personality

Adults with both stars are not automatically “pressure plus wisdom.” They may be students under a harsh syllabus, clinicians’ administrators under a sharp regulator, artists with a strict teacher, or people whose inner critic has a library card. They may also be exhausted. The pair’s best practical question is: what procedure, document, or teacher actually holds the pressure this month? If the answer is “none,” the classical transformation has not happened in the life, whatever the stems say. You may go find a procedure. The stems will not fetch it.

When the pair is only adjacent on a screenshot

Seeing the two glosses in one column is not yet context. Ask which pillar, which layer, and whether a clash hits the resource branch. A resource stem that is void, badly clashed, or only residual qi may not be the shelter the proverb promises. Hidden stems and reading in context are the checks. Skip them and the proverb becomes a slogan. Slogans are how people stay in bad rooms because a pair “means the room will promote them.”

A Friday certificate and a manager who remains

A warehouse supervisor in Rotterdam has Seven Killings on the month stem and Direct Resource on the year stem. A new regional manager has doubled the audit cadence. The company will pay for a safety-certificate course that ends Friday at 16:00. He says, “Seal and killing means the certificate will make the manager fair.” The pair can describe pressure met by a formal method. The certificate can make him more precise and can give him a checklist to cite. It will not edit the manager’s character. The civil constraints are the Friday 16:00 finish, the shift he must swap in writing by Wednesday noon, and the site rule that an audit finding is logged the same day. If the manager’s conduct is harassment or a safety retaliation, the company’s reporting line and local employment rules are the remedy. The year stem is not a remedy. He can still attend the course because the checklist is useful on its own. Usefulness is enough. Transformation into status is not required.

He says, at Wednesday’s handover: “I am in the classroom Friday until 16:00. The floor lead is named on the swap. Findings stay in the log.” That sentence is the pair at human scale: pressure acknowledged, support scheduled, the building still staffed.

Study that hides

Resource can also swallow the killing by endless preparation. Another course, then another, while the audit cadence stays brutal and unreported. The seal is not doing its job if it only postpones a factual complaint. Proper Seal on its own already warns that learning can become a bunker. Beside Seven Killings the bunker is more attractive, because study feels like the prescribed cure. It is a tool. The log and the reporting line are tools too.

A strong chart may not need the shelter

If the day master is strong and the useful priority is output or wealth rather than more resource, the certificate can still be worth taking for the floor. The balance note simply stops him from stacking credentials as identity. One Friday course can be the right size. A second diploma undertaken to feel safe from a manager is a different decision, and it deserves a budget and a calendar, not a proverb.

Do not rank the audit by path color

The audit day is set by the regional office. Pick a Good Day does not move it and must not be used to dodge a finding. If he may choose any of three evenings for the course’s optional revision hour, a civil rank can break that tie. The Wednesday swap remains the document that protects Friday. Write the swap. Then study.

Proof that suffering is meaningful or that it will be repaid in rank.
Legal, medical, or workplace advice. Rules, clinicians, and the reporting line win.
