You do not need to memorize the twelve lists to read a printed chart. You need to notice the order the chart already uses: main, then middle, then residual.

Exposed first, hidden second

Read the stems on the pillars before you descend. An exposed Hurting Officer on the month stem is a louder fact than a residual Eating God under the day branch. Adults get into trouble by reversing that order because the hidden god matches a hope. Hope can be noted. It does not get to jump the queue. If no exposed stem carries the theme you care about, say so in the first sentence of your note. Then, and only then, open the branch.

The same god at three volumes

Direct Resource as main qi in the month, as middle qi in the year branch, and as residual qi in the day branch is one god at three volumes, not three credentials. The month copy can name the structure. The year copy can color the outer frame. The residual copy can sit in a diary as a minor theme. Adding them into “a life of seals” is the counting habit again. A Tuesday class and a residual Eating God

The civil constraint is the coordinator’s reply deadline, Friday at 13:00 local, and the room booking that is released if she declines. A layered sentence is: “The output star is a trace under the day branch, not the month’s pattern. I can try one term because the trace matches the wish, and I can stop after the eighth Tuesday if the work drains me.” The chart does not enroll the students. The design school’s contract does. If the hour of birth is unknown, she does not borrow a friend’s method to stuff an Eating God into a blank hour so the class feels blessed. The blank stays blank.

The strength band still matters. If the day master is weak and output is not the useful priority, the trace is a hobby-scale yes rather than a second career. Hobby-scale is allowed. Adults teach one term and return to the desk. The residual qi will not be insulted by a modest trial.

Main qi is the pattern’s anchor

When you do find the god you care about as the month’s main qi, speak differently. That is the structure line on the full chart: Direct Wealth structure, Seven Killings structure, and the rest of the orthodox patterns, including the companion patterns this engine names from the month. Structure can frame a decade of questions. It still cannot answer Friday’s email by itself. The coordinator needs a yes or a no. The pattern needs an evening you can actually attend at 19:00.

Middle qi as a bridge

Middle qi is where readers smuggle certainty. It is stronger than a trace and weaker than the chief. Use it as a bridge in sentences: “present, not leading.” A middle-qi Direct Officer can describe a real duty inside a chart whose pattern is output. The duty might be a committee you already sit on. It might be nothing you can see this year. Ask the calendar, not the middle stem, whether the committee exists. If it exists, the middle qi can help you notice that the duty is real without being the whole job.

Full chart and light chart

Hidden stems are a full-chart layer, listed with nayin, void branches, symbolic stars, and the luck steps when the inputs allow them. The light chart’s short reading can still be a complete first sitting because it refuses to pretend the hidden list was shown.
