Ten Gods and Career Themes: Questions, Not Job Predictions

Ten gods and career belong together as questions: officer stars ask about duty and pressure, output stars about craft, wealth about exchange, resource about support, and the peer stars about equals. None of those questions names an employer, a title, or a hiring result. The chart is professional BaZi guidance, and the offer letter is the document that hires.

Key facts

  • A career theme is a question you can answer from your actual week, using the god as a prompt. “Where am I being evaluated?” is a question. “You will be a judge” is a prediction, and this page does not make it.
  • The month’s main qi, when the full chart names a structure, is the first career weather to ask about. A single stem elsewhere is a follow-up, not a new profession.
  • Strength changes the question. On a strong day master, officer or output may be the useful priority. On a weak day master, the useful priority may be resource, and the career question becomes where support is missing.
  • Luck steps can make a theme louder for a decade, and only when the hour and sex at birth are both known. Sex at birth sets direction. It does not sort jobs by gender.
  • An unknown hour blanks the hour pillar. Late-career folklore that depends on that pillar stays incomplete on purpose.
  • Visas, contracts, and professional licenses outrank every god. The disclaimer keeps the chart beside those documents, not above them.

A question list that stays a list

Use the god you actually have, not the god you wish were the pattern. What BaZi is gives you the day master as the reference. From there, write one question per relevant star and stop at three. More than three and you are collecting omens.

Officer questions

Direct Officer: Where is the standard I answer to, and is the brief written down? Seven Killings: Where is the pressure sharp, and what safeguard is missing? Both can sit in a public post or in a private practice with a hard client. Neither means you must manage people. A specialist who reports to a committee is still answering an officer question. A founder with no boss can meet Seven Killings as the market’s deadline. The question locates the weather. The org chart locates the people.

Output, wealth, resource, peers

Eating God: What can I hand to someone else in a finished state, and am I finishing it? Hurting Officer: Where does my draft need to disagree, and which disagreement is just style? Direct Wealth: What exchange is already contracted, and am I delivering it? Indirect Wealth: Which opportunity is outside the retainer, and does my contract allow it? Direct Resource: What study or shelter actually restores the work? Indirect Resource: Where am I learning sideways, and is that a method or an avoidance? Companion: Who is a true peer? Rob Wealth: Where does a shared pot need a written split? These questions are tools. They are not a vocational test with a hidden answer key.

Two offers and a Friday at 16:00

A product designer in Denver has Hurting Officer as the month’s main qi and Direct Officer on the year stem. Two offers arrive. Offer A is a titled role with a reporting line, a bonus tied to team targets, and a start date of the first Monday in May. Offer B is a nine-month specialist contract, portfolio rights stated, no direct reports. Both want an answer by Friday at 16:00 Mountain. She says, “The month is output, so B is destined and A would betray the chart.” The month does describe craft weather. Offer A is still a lawful job. The civil constraints are the Friday clock, the May start, the visa sponsorship line that appears only in offer A, and the portfolio clause that appears only in offer B. A chart-guided note she can actually use says: “I am already tired of untitled critique with no protection, and I am also tired of meetings. I will compare the sponsorship line and the portfolio line before 15:00, then answer.” Destiny is not on the table. Sponsorship is. If she needs the visa, offer B’s prettier god-fit does not issue a visa. An immigration lawyer or the employer’s counsel reads that line. The ten gods do not.

She can reject both. Silence until 16:00 is also an answer, usually a no. The chart will not phone the recruiters.

When the useful element disagrees with the month story

Suppose the day master is weak and the useful priority is resource, while the month still shows Hurting Officer. The structure and the priority are allowed to tug. The question becomes whether offer B’s freedom is a drain she cannot price, and whether offer A’s reporting line includes training or only surveillance. Those are interview questions. Ask them before Friday. A priority is not a puppet string.

Luck steps and a role you do not have yet

If the full chart shows a coming decade of Direct Officer, she may feel the titled role “matches the future.” The decade has not hired her. It cannot be asked to. A step that begins years from now is a poor reason to accept a May start she does not want, and a poor reason to refuse one she does. Read the step as climate after the contract is intelligible. Luck pillars and career keeps that order.

Start dates and almanac ranks

Once she has accepted an offer, the employer’s start date may be fixed. Pick a Good Day does not move a Monday the company has already staffed. If she is choosing among dates the company left open for a first day, a rank can break the tie. The rank does not review the salary. Put the salary, the visa, and the portfolio clause in the Friday comparison. Leave the almanac for a choice that is still a choice.

What this is not

  • A predicted job title, employer, or promotion date.
  • Employment, immigration, or tax advice. The offer and a qualified adviser win.
  • A gender script about who should lead, assist, or stay home.
  • A reason to ghost a recruiter because a star felt offended.
  • A chart cast for a teenager choosing a major under parental pressure. This page is for adults.
  • Entertainment. Career questions from ten gods are guidance, not a quiz result.
