Remote-Work Milestones and Date Picking
Remote work hides the milestone. There is no ribbon and no office door. The day still exists: the morning a client can first log in, the hour a contract is countersigned, the Monday you stop researching and start the build. Pick a Good Day can rank a civil window for that milestone if you name the kind of act it is. A distributed team does not get a special almanac. It gets the same day qualities, plus a harder problem of whose calendar date the milestone falls on.
Key facts
- A public launch of an offer is closest to opening a business (开市). A move of the legal home of the work can also bring in 移徙 and 入宅. Those three are what the opening occasion scores.
- A scope call or a signature is closer to a meeting: 会友 and 订盟.
- A private “I begin the draft” day, with no audience, is Custom. Custom ignores activity names and scores path and officer.
- There is no remote-work button and no productivity score.
- Personal clash math is only year branch (minus six) and day pillar (minus four). It is not a ten-god reading of standup days.
- The free card is one leading day.
Match the occasion to the moment that counts
People lump “starting the project” together. The almanac does not. If the moment is a tweet, a product page, or the first invoice, you are opening something the public can meet. Rank that under opening. Each of opening, moving, and moving-in, when listed as suitable, adds four; each listed as unsuitable subtracts five. Path color then moves the total by two, yellow up and black down. Officer bonuses are narrow: Success and Open add two, Full adds one, Close and Destruction subtract two.
If the moment is a negotiation call, use the meeting occasion and accept that it is scoring friendship-and-agreement language, not “deep work.” If the moment is only your own focus block, Custom is cleaner. Pretending a silent writing day is a shop opening will prefer days that suit 开市, which may be irrelevant to a document nobody will see.
The day the work becomes public
Public milestones have witnesses and time zones. A changelog posted at 09:00 Pacific is still the previous evening in Berlin and the late evening in Dubai. Choose the civil date you want customers to read on the page, say so in the invite, and rank that date. Do not rank “Beijing Thursday” because an old tongshu in the family was printed for a Chinese city. The form uses the year, month, and day you submit.
The day you only change a setting
Turning on a feature flag, migrating a database, or deleting a staging site is often irreversible and often boring. The almanac will still describe the day. It will not know your rollback plan, your on-call rota, or the maintenance window your host already scheduled. If the host offers Tuesday 02:00 UTC only, that slot wins. A yellow-path Friday you cannot book is not a better operations decision. Use the rank when you have two or three genuinely open dates, not when the platform has already chosen.
Shared teams and one birth date
The birth field accepts a single civil date. It does not cast an hour, and it does not blend a company. A founder who quietly enters a personal birthday and then announces “the tool picked Thursday” has mixed a private penalty into a public calendar. Either leave the field blank so the score is the shared almanac line, or tell the team whose year branch and day pillar were checked. Two penalties can stack when the year animal and the day-pillar animal match the day’s clash. Colleagues with other animals will not see the same subtraction.
Ten gods, luck cycles, and useful-element language are not applied to these milestones. They are not a sprint planner.
Bodies, contracts, and faith calendars
A milestone that requires someone to skip sleep, skip a medication schedule, or skip a religious obligation is a bad milestone, whatever the officer says. This page is not medical, legal, or financial advice. Employment law, tax points, and invoice terms are outside the rank. So is worship. If a colleague observes a fast or a holy day, ask, and take the answer over the path color. Treatment-related almanac phrases are stripped from the card so they cannot be mistaken for a health schedule, and they do not affect the number.
Peng Zu’s line and the sha direction remain visible. Treat them as part of the traditional page you were shown, not as a ban on shipping code that “faces” a compass point. A laptop does not have a ridge beam.
What this is not
This is not a guarantee of uptime, revenue, or a calm Slack. It is not a substitute for a project plan. Professional metaphysics can order a few candidate dates. It cannot see your backlog. The past-life quiz on this site is a different product and is not how a release date is chosen. Do not describe the date rank as entertainment. That word belongs to the fiction quiz, not to this tool.
