Who Should See Your BaZi Chart
A BaZi chart is a reading of a birth moment: a date, often a time, and sometimes a place, and those facts can identify a person. Decide who may see the pillars before you forward a link. Professional guidance is for the person who asked, unless that person deliberately shares it.
Key facts
- Birth date, birth time, and birthplace are sensitive. A full chart displays them in a form other people can copy.
- The default audience is you. A partner, a parent, or a group does not gain a right to the chart by being curious.
- An unknown hour should stay blank. Do not let someone else invent a time so the picture looks complete.
- Saving a chart uses an email magic link on this site. The inbox that receives the link is part of the audience.
- Screenshots travel further than links. Cropping and permission are covered in the ethics essay. The short rule is: do not post someone else's full chart.
- We do not publish speculative charts of public figures as fact. Privacy runs in that direction too.
What the chart reveals besides "personality"
People think they are sharing a temperament sketch. They are often sharing the inputs. A day pillar plus a year is a narrow key. An hour pillar narrows it again. A place narrows time zone and, in a small town, community. Luck cycles on the full chart add sex at birth, because the count uses it. That is more than a party conversation needs. If you would not read your birth certificate aloud in that room, do not put the full cast on the table.
The reading text is slightly easier to share than the inputs, and still not harmless. A line about wealth, marriage, or health metaphor can be repeated as gossip. Health metaphor is not a diagnosis, but a forwarded sentence can sound like one. Relationship language can be used to pressure a partner who never consented to be discussed. The useful element can be mocked. None of this is the method. It is what happens when the audience is larger than the question.
People who might reasonably see it
You, first. A professional reader you hired, in a context where you understand they will see the birth data. A partner, if you choose, about the parts that concern a decision you are making together, and not as a surprise in front of friends. A parent of a minor is a special case this site does not serve: our metaphysics tools are not a children's product, and we do not want birth data of minors gathered for a casual cast. Adults decide for themselves.
People who do not qualify by default: a manager, a date who is still a stranger, a family group thread, a class, a client, a matchmaker, an investor doing "diligence." Employment, credit, housing, and medical decisions must not be made from a chart. Sharing one so that someone else can make those decisions is a misuse. If a boss asks, you can refuse. The refusal does not require you to denounce the tradition. It requires you to keep your birth time.
Links, inboxes, and copies
On this site an account opens with an email link. That link is a key to whatever you saved. Use an inbox you control. Do not forward the sign-in mail to a group. A saved chart is still your birth data sitting behind that inbox. If you share a phone or a computer, assume the other person can see what you leave on the screen. Lock the session when you stand up.
A result link is convenient and leaky. Anyone with the link can read what the link shows. Send it only to a person you would also tell the birth time. If you would not, describe the conclusion in your own words and leave the pillars off. "The month looks like a heavy work season" is shareable. The stem-branch grid with the clock in the corner is not, unless you mean it to be.
We cannot pull a screenshot back once it is in someone else's camera roll. Ask before you photograph a reading that is not yours, even in the same household. A partner's chart is not marital property. A parent's chart is not a child's right. A client's chart is not a case study for your feed. The ethics piece on screenshots states the posting rule in more detail. The privacy rule underneath it is consent.
What we store and what we will not do with it
Birth data is used to cast the chart you asked for. It is not used to build a public directory of pillars, a celebrity appendix, or a training set we describe as identified people. The privacy page is the operational note. This essay is the social one: even a careful site cannot help you if you paste the result into a chat with forty relatives. A free cast is still a birth moment.
If you need a chart deleted from an account, use the account and privacy routes when those requests are open, and write to the address on the privacy page. Do not post the chart publicly in order to ask for deletion. That enlarges the audience you meant to shrink.
Choosing a smaller share
You can talk about a reading without exhibiting it. Name the decision: you are treating this year as a study year because resource is the useful priority. Omit the hour. Omit the place. Omit anyone else's pillars. If a group reading is the social plan, bring a principle you are willing to say in public, not a printout. If someone presses, "It is a private chart" is a complete sentence.
Correcting a birth time later is common. The updated chart replaces the old one. Copies you already sent do not update themselves. One more reason to have sent fewer copies. The essay on updating birth data walks through the cast. The privacy consequence is here: every recipient of the wrong hour now holds a wrong document that still looks intimate.
What this is not
This is not legal advice on data-protection statutes, employment law, or family law. It is not a promise that any digital tool is incapable of leaking. It is a standard for this practice. Birth data is sensitive. The audience is the person who asked, plus anyone they deliberately include. We do not want your chart in a pile of screenshots. We do not publish public figures' charts as fact.
