Qi Men and BaZi: Why We Keep Scope Tight on PastLifeTest
Qi Men Dun Jia and BaZi are both traditional Chinese methods that English readers now meet online, often in the same advertisement. They are not the same cast. BaZi is four pillars from a birth. Qi Men, in the schools that teach it, builds a plate of palaces for a moment or a question, with doors, stars, and deities arranged by a procedure that is not “take the day master and rename it.” PastLifeTest keeps the scope tight on purpose. We cast BaZi. We rank civil dates with the almanac. Qi Men is outside what this site casts. We do not sell Qi Men charts, boards, or hour plates.
Key facts
- There is no Qi Men SKU, no plate preview, and no “Qi Men mode” inside Light or Full BaZi.
- Light BaZi is $12.99 and the full chart is $19.99, shelf prices for pillars, ten gods, and, on the full reading, luck cycles and related notes.
- A good-day rank is day officer, path, activities, and optional year-branch or day-pillar clash. It is not a Qi Men plate for the event hour.
- We also do not sell Zi Wei charts. That boundary is the same kind of refusal, stated so a reader does not infer a secret menu.
- The past-life quiz is entertainment fiction. It is not a Qi Men question tool and not a pillar tool.
- Professional guidance is the label for BaZi and Good Day. Entertainment is the label for the quiz. Mixing the labels is how scope creeps.
What Qi Men is asking
A Qi Men question is often situational. Practitioners cast for a time and read a layout: which door, which star, which deity, which palace faces the matter in hand. Some use it for timing an action, some for assessing a direction, some for a question that looks more like divination than like a natal chart. The technical disagreements among schools are large. This page will not teach the arrangement, will not give a worked plate, and will not pretend a short English glossary is a transmission. The high-level contrast is enough: a plate for a chosen hour is not four pillars fixed by a birth.
Someone can study both for years. The existence of serious dual practitioners is not a reason for a website to bolt a plate onto a pillar printout and call it included. If we do not maintain the method, we should not display the jargon as if we did.
What this site will cast
We will take a birth date, a time if known, and a place if listed, and we will return pillars. The month follows solar terms. The clock follows the city zone, historical daylight saving included, then apparent solar time. Unknown hour, blank hour pillar. The reading can discuss structure in ordinary chart language. It cannot rotate a Qi Men palace because you asked a business question at 10:14. If that is the form you wanted, you are in a different shop.
We will also rank a window of dates for travel, a wedding, a memorial, a meeting, an opening or a move, or a custom path-and-officer sort. That is 择日 in the narrow method we publish. It is not Qi Men hour selection. Auspicious-hour requests are refused as a product even inside our own almanac, because we do not elect a watch. We certainly do not elect one by a plate we do not cast.
Why the boundary is a feature
A plate we do not maintain
A tight scope is how a reader knows what was actually computed. Pillars can be regression-tested against solar-term minutes. Our good-day order can be locked for a sample window. A Qi Men plate has its own canons, and we have not put those canons in the engine. Offering it “for completeness” would be offering a costume. The same applies to Zi Wei star palaces and to Vedic sky charts. Those systems are outside the cast. You can read high-level comparisons on this site. You cannot buy the other chart here.
BaZi remains guidance, not a toy and not the quiz. Good Day remains guidance. Neither of those two is entertainment fiction. The quiz is. The quiz writes fiction from preferences and should be shared as fiction if it is shared at all. None of the three becomes more trustworthy if we add a door and a deity we did not calculate.
Medical, legal, and financial decisions are outside all of these tools as we ship them. A plate we do not sell is not a back door into those decisions either.
What this is not
This is not a beginner’s Qi Men course, and not an insult to people who use the plates. It is a statement of product scope. We do not sell Qi Men charts. We do not convert a day master into a door. Checkout cannot be opened onto an item that is not in the catalog.
