Personal Good Days and Real Scheduling Constraints
A personal good day is useful only after the real calendar has spoken. Rotas, leases, school runs you already promised, and tickets that exist on one flight number are the window. Pick a Good Day can then prefer one allowed date over another. It cannot invent a free hour, and it is professional guidance, not a reason to miss a shift.
Key facts
- Rank the slack. If a duty, a deadline, or a single offered slot leaves one date, there is nothing to sort.
- The birth-date filter, when you use it, checks a year-branch clash and a day-pillar clash. It does not know your rota.
- Path and officer are small next to an unsuitable activity line, and all of them are small next to a shift you cannot drop.
- The same edges and the same occasion return the same order every time you ask. Belief does not reshuffle the list.
- A preview shows one day. If that day is impossible, it is still only a preview, not a command to clear your diary.
Build the window from the constraint, not from the officer
Write the immovable facts in the time zone that governs them. A hospital rota posted in Irish Standard Time does not care that your birth chart was cast for another city. A landlord’s key office that closes at 16:00 local does not stay open because the day officer is Open. Put those edges on paper first. Only the dates that survive belong in the tool.
Personal matching is optional and narrow. The year branch follows Start of Spring, not 1 January. The day pillar is the sexagenary day of the birth date you type. A clash with the year branch costs more points than a clash with the day pillar. That arithmetic can reorder two dates you can actually attend. It cannot reorder a date you cannot attend into a date you can. If you want the day master and the ten-year steps, that is a separate chart on BaZi, described in what BaZi is. Do not ask the date list to impersonate it.
Occasions stay specific. A lease conversation that is really about receiving keys is closer to a move than to a social meeting. A flight is travel. If you pick the wrong occasion, you will get a sincere answer to the wrong question. The scoring map itself is on Pick a Good Day.
A nurse whose rota posts at 16:00
A nurse in Dublin works a rolling fortnight. The roster lands in the staff app on Friday at 16:00. She needs a weekday morning to meet a solicitor about a tenancy she is leaving, and the solicitor has offered any morning in the next ten days except the mornings she is already on the ward. After the roster posts, two mornings are truly free: Wednesday the 8th and Monday the 13th. Both are before the solicitor’s own leave.
She does not rank the whole fortnight. She ranks those two mornings as a meeting. Suppose Wednesday carries a suitable agreement line and Monday is black path with agreements listed to avoid. She takes Wednesday. Suppose the reverse, and Wednesday is also the morning her childminder cancelled. She takes Monday and spends the evening reading the draft. The childminder is a constraint. The officer is a tie-break. She does not text the ward manager to swap a shift because a preview preferred a day she is scheduled to work. Patient care and the contract she signed with the hospital outrank a two-point path.
What a high score is allowed to mean
A high score means the signals we publish lined up for the occasion: activity lines, path, officer, and clash penalties if a birth date was present. It does not mean the meeting will be kind, the landlord will refund a deposit, or the week will feel light. A low score on the only workable day means the almanac has a reservation. You can still keep the day and name the reason in one sentence: “This is the only morning I am not on the ward.” That sentence is more protective than waiting for Success.
People get into trouble when they treat the preview as the first filter and the diary as the second. Reverse it. Filter by sleep, by transport, by who must be in the room, by a notice period, by a faith practice you already keep. Then, if two or more dates remain, look at the card. Yellow path is not a color to wear and not a promise of ease. Black path is not a curse. Both are classes of day spirits used as a modest weight.
When the constraint is someone else’s clock
A parent’s flight, a notary’s Thursday, a building concierge who only does handovers on weekdays: these are not “energy.” They are other people’s jobs. Asking them to move so your year branch is unclashed is a request you may make once, politely, and drop when they say no. You do not need their birth data to complete your rank. A personal good day is personal because it can use your branches. It is not a claim on their calendar.
If the only surviving date clashes your year branch, keep it when the alternative is missing the handover. The penalty changes order inside a window. An empty window has no order. The guidance disclaimer is the short version of that limit: professional metaphysics, no outcome promised, clinicians and counsel and contracts ahead of any day officer.
A short order of work
List dates that are physically possible. Cross out any that break sleep, a shift, or a fare you cannot pay. If one date remains, book it and do not open the tool for permission. If several remain, choose the occasion that matches the act and, if you want, add your own birth date. Read the why-text. Prefer the suitable line over the prettier officer. Tell the other person the practical reason, not the metaphysics, unless they asked.
The past-life quiz is entertainment on another shelf. It will not find you a free morning. Date guidance stays on Pick a Good Day, with plan details on the plans page for when a longer list can be offered. Help is the place for product questions.
What this is not
- A way to clear a rota, a court date, a visa slot, or a landlord’s deadline.
- Financial advice about whether you can afford the fare or the deposit.
- A full hourly chart of every free morning.
- A requirement that colleagues, childminders, or notaries yield to your branches.
- Proof that the higher score will feel better once you arrive.
- A purchase. Opening the ranker does not charge a card.
