Light BaZi vs Full BaZi Chart: What You Get

Light BaZi and the full chart are the same birth, cast once, printed at two depths. Light is $12.99 and is the short professional reading: pillars, ten gods with an English gloss, element balance, a useful-element sketch, and a short reading. The full chart is $19.99 and keeps every light layer, then adds hidden stems, nayin, void, structure, symbolic stars, combinations and clashes, and eight 10-year luck steps when sex at birth and the hour are both known. Both are guidance. Neither is the entertainment quiz, and neither promises an outcome.

Key facts

  • One cast serves both charts. The same date, time, and place produce the same pillars on light and on full.
  • Light ($12.99) stops at the pillars, the ten gods, element balance, the useful-element sketch, and a short reading of temperament, work, wealth, relationship, and health tendency.
  • Full ($19.99) adds hidden stems, nayin, void branches, chart structure, symbolic stars, combinations and clashes, and the luck-cycle layer.
  • Luck steps are counted only when the hour is known and sex at birth is given. Otherwise that layer is omitted on purpose.
  • An unknown hour blanks the hour pillar on both charts. The day pillar is taken from local noon.
  • The prices are shelf prices. Saving either result with an email link does not charge.

What the light chart is for

The light chart is the chart you can hold in one reading. You see four pillars, or three if the hour is blank. Each visible stem other than the day master is labeled with a ten god: the Chinese name and an English gloss such as Direct Wealth, Eating God, or Direct Resource. Element balance shows how wood, fire, earth, metal, and water are distributed. The useful-element sketch names the priority the method would rather support, including the seasonal adjustment for that day stem and month branch.

The short reading walks five themes: temperament, work, wealth, relationship, and a health tendency. Wealth language describes the wealth stars and whether the day master is read as able to carry them. It does not name an amount, a date of gain, or a strategy. Relationship language describes the day branch and the relevant gods. It does not assign a spouse or a timeline. The health tendency is element metaphor for the climate of the chart. It is not a diagnosis and it is not a reason to change treatment.

Choose the light chart when you want the skeleton and a clear English paragraph, and when you do not yet need the decade-by-decade layer. It is a complete short reading, not a teaser with the conclusion removed.

What the full chart adds

The full chart is a professional BaZi life-map report, not a longer copy of the light paragraph. The page has a clickable table of contents. The paid file covers pattern and day master, temperament, work, wealth, relationships, constitutional tendency, a narrative for each luck step when the hour and sex at birth are both known, and careful-window paragraphs where a year branch clashes or harms a natal branch. Two follow-up questions and a PDF download are part of that paid file. The price stays $19.99.

The same pillars still open into hidden stems, nayin, void, structure, symbolic stars, and combinations or clashes. Luck steps, when they are printed, are eight ten-year climates with prose, not only a table. Start age is a house estimate from the chart fields, coarser than a solar-term count, and the book says so. A favorable step is a favorable step inside the method. It is not a guaranteed year.

When the eight steps appear

The eight 10-year steps are printed when two facts are both present. The hour must be known, and sex at birth must be given, because that pair sets the direction of the count. Start age is a house estimate, not a solar-term count. If either fact is missing, the luck narrative is withheld on purpose and the book says so. Sex at birth is not reused as a script for marriage or status.

When the hour is blank on both

Unknown hour is handled the same way on light and on full. The hour pillar is blank. The day pillar is taken from local noon. Luck cycles are not counted. You still receive the year, month, and day, the ten gods that can be named from the visible stems, the element balance, and the useful-element sketch. The full chart can still discuss hidden stems, nayin, void, structure, stars, and combinations for the pillars that exist. It will not pretend the missing hour has a branch.

How to choose

Start with light if this is your first BaZi chart in English and you want the day master, the ten gods, and a short reading before you add vocabulary. Move to the full chart if you already know you want structure, the stars, the clash map, or the ten-year steps, and you have the hour and sex at birth available for that last layer.

The two products are not two opinions. They are two depths of one cast. If you run both on the same birth, the pillars should match. A mismatch would be a bug, not a “deeper truth” on one page. The full chart does not overrule the light chart’s day master. It gives that day master more furniture.

People sometimes ask which one is more accurate. The pillars are the same, so the calendar accuracy is the same. What changes is how much of the classical apparatus is printed. More apparatus is more to read. It is not a higher probability that life will match the prose. Precision of the clock and certainty about a career are different ideas, and only the clock is what the form can tighten.

Clock rules that apply to both prices

Both charts use civil time in the place’s timezone, then apparent solar time when longitude is known. Historical daylight saving stays in the zone. Year and month follow the solar instant rather than a Beijing wall clock left over after the conversion. With no city, both charts use a fixed UTC+8 reading and do not apply a fake Beijing longitude correction.

The zi rule is shared. On the casting clock, 23:00–23:59 is late zi: the hour branch is zi and the day pillar advances. 00:00–00:59 is early zi: the hour branch is zi and the day is already the new day. The rule matters most when a birth sits near midnight, and it is independent of which price you open.

The month still changes at the solar term on both charts. The year branch still changes at Start of Spring. Paying for the full chart does not switch the calendar to the lunar new moon or to 1 January.

Shelf prices, and what a saved chart is

Light is $12.99. Full is $19.99. You can open either form. An email magic link from “Save this reading” stores a title, a short summary, and the page link on the account. The link does not charge you and it is not a subscription. Pick a Good Day is a separate tool with its own plans. A BaZi chart is not included in the Good Day subscription, and a Good Day plan is not a BaZi chart.

The past-life quiz remains entertainment fiction on another path.

What this is not

  • Not two different birth calculations. Light and full share one cast.
  • Not a luck-cycle product when the hour or sex at birth is missing. The steps are omitted.
  • Not a medical report. The health tendency is element metaphor on both charts.
  • Not a wealth guarantee on the fuller reading. More layers are more vocabulary.
  • Not the past-life quiz, and not a Good Day subscription.
  • Not a payment.
