Compatibility in BaZi and Western Astrology Without Scorekeeping

Compatibility in BaZi and in Western astrology can be discussed without a couple score. BaZi, on this site, may describe relationship themes in one adult’s chart as professional guidance. Western synastry compares two natal charts in a method we do not run. Fusing them into a percent pretends the units match. They do not. A shared flat still needs two people who agree, a lease they can sign, and no metaphysics veto.

Key facts

  • We do not print a compatibility percentage, a fated-spouse name, or a blended BaZi of two births.
  • Relationship language in a single chart is about that chart’s day branch and related gods. It is not permission to pursue or reject a named person.
  • Synastry, composite charts, and “Venus contacts” are Western techniques. They are not calculated here.
  • Two adults who each want a BaZi reading get two readings. Sex at birth does not decide who is the bride or the groom. It sets luck direction only, with an hour.
  • A move-in date can be ranked on the almanac after the practical shortlist exists. The rank is not a relationship score.
  • Do not collect a colleague’s, an ex’s, or a minor’s birth data for a match they did not request.

What a single chart can say about relationships

A willing adult may look at their own chart and talk about how they handle closeness, conflict, or reliance. That conversation can be specific to the pillars and still humble about the other person, who is not inside the chart. The other person has a will, a history, and a calendar. The day master does not date for you. The full set of relationship-relevant symbols, when you want them, is part of the full chart. The overview is what BaZi is. You open it for yourself at BaZi.

If someone asks us to compare two day masters and return a grade, we refuse the grade. You may each read your own chart and talk like adults. Talking is not a product feature. Averaging a water day master with a fire day master into “seventy percent” imports the element confusion of a neighboring essay and adds a false precision. Seventy percent of what. The method has no such unit.

Western synastry has its own units: aspects between two charts, often with orbs and house overlays. Practitioners in that tradition can explain their own limits. We will not approximate those aspects with branch clashes and call the approximation good enough. A clash is a BaZi or almanac relation between branches. An opposition is a Western angle. Same English feeling, different geometry.

Two colleagues and a flat in Singapore

Two colleagues in Singapore consider sharing a flat. One asks for “our percent” so the group chat can relax. They each have Western charts from an app, and one has a BaZi printout. Neither document knows the lease.

They decline the percent. They talk about budget, guests, a bathroom schedule, and whether both names can be on the contract. If the landlord offers two move-in dates and both are lawful, they may rank those dates as a move on Pick a Good Day, birth field empty, and ignore the rank if one date is the only date a current tenancy allows. The rank is on the fact sheet. It does not become “the relationship scored well.” If they later want personal charts, each person opens their own. Nobody pastes the other’s birth time into a form at work. The disclaimer covers guidance versus a vow. A flatshare is not even a vow. It is a contract, and counsel or a plain reading of the tenancy wins over any branch.

Pressure, consent, and the people not in the room

Compatibility talk becomes harmful when it is used to pressure someone who is unsure, to out a relationship, or to explain away unkind behavior as “their chart.” A pillar is not an excuse. It is also not a screening tool for hiring, for a congregation, or for a family deciding whether a partner is allowed at dinner. Relatives do not get to commission a chart of the partner. If the partner wants a reading, the partner asks.

Children are not compatibility inputs. A parent’s curiosity about a teenager’s future spouse is a request we will not serve. Adults only.

The past-life quiz is entertainment. A fiction card that pairs two archetypes is not synastry and not BaZi. It is not evidence you have already chosen each other. Do not show it to a lawyer, a registrar, or a reluctant partner as proof.

A sentence that refuses the score

“I can read my own chart as a reflection on how I act when I am close to someone. I cannot score you, and I cannot score us. If we share a flat, we will use the lease and the calendar.” That sentence is compatible with both traditions because it does not loot either one for a number. If a Western practitioner offers a synastry session elsewhere, it should carry its own limits, including the freedom to ignore it. Our site will not host that session and will not grade it.

Dates are allowed to stay boring

Couples and roommates may still want a traditional tie-break for a ceremony or a key handover. That is an occasion rank, labeled as such, after constraints. It is not a quieter word for compatibility. Keep the heading accurate so next year’s argument has nothing mystical to hide in.

Help explains why we will not add a couple-score field. Four pillars explains the single-chart layout.

What this is not

  • A couple percent, a synastry engine, or a fated-name generator.
  • Permission to chart someone who did not ask.
  • Relationship, legal, or medical advice.
  • A reason to sign or refuse a lease.
  • A couple percent is not an entertainment match. The quiz is fiction, and BaZi is guidance.
  • A charge for opening your own chart.
