How to Choose an Auspicious Date for Travel, Launch, or Move

An auspicious date, here, is a civil day that ranks well for a named act inside a window you can actually use. Pick a Good Day scores travel, an opening or a launch, and a move from the Chinese almanac’s suitable and unsuitable lists, the day’s path, and the day officer. The result is guidance. The highest row is the almanac’s preference. Your tickets, your lease, and your colleagues remain part of the decision.

Key facts

  • Travel is matched to the activity “travel” (出行). A launch or opening is matched to opening a business (开市), together with the move activities when the occasion is an opening or a move.
  • A move is matched to moving house (移徙) and moving in (入宅), and the opening activity is in that same occasion group.
  • Suitable matches add 4 each. Unsuitable matches subtract 5. Yellow path adds 2. Black path subtracts 2.
  • Success or Open adds 2. Full adds 1. Close or Destruction subtracts 2.
  • One day in the window is free to preview.
  • A birth date, if you add one, is a year pillar after Start of Spring plus a day pillar, not a full chart of every candidate.

Start from the act, then the window

Name the act in ordinary language before you open the tool. “I fly to another city for four days” is travel. “I publish an offer and take the first payment” is closer to an opening. “I hand back keys and take new keys” is a move. If one week contains two of these, rank them as two windows. A blended question produces a blended card that is harder to obey.

Set the window to dates that are real. A launch date that ignores a supplier, or a move date that ignores the only van, is not made more auspicious by a higher score. Put the true constraints in first. Then let the almanac sort the days that survive. The free preview shows the single best survivor under the rules. The preview still tells you how the top of the window behaves.

Read the avoid line even when the score is high. Travel can be suitable on a day when setting up a bed or breaking ground is unsuitable. You are allowed to travel. You are also allowed to notice the other label. The score did not erase it.

Travel

For travel, the matching activity is 出行. If the almanac lists it as suitable, the day gains 4. If it lists it as unsuitable, the day loses 5. Path and officer then tilt the same day by a few points. A yellow-path Open day with travel suitable is the pattern the score likes. A black-path Destruction day with travel unsuitable is the pattern it pushes down. Most days sit between those poles, and the card should be read as a between.

Clash and sha direction are part of the travel card because the traditional day names a direction it strikes. That note is not a ban on a compass bearing. It is context. With a birth date, a personal clash penalty can outweigh the path bonus, because 6 points is larger than 2. Without a birth date, the day’s own clash is still printed and simply does not subtract the personal penalty.

A short trip and a long one

The tool ranks the start, the day you asked about, not every day you will be away. A weekend flight and a three-week trip use the same activity match. If the day you depart is the day you care about, rank departure. If the day you sign for a flat at the other end is the day you care about, rank that day as a move or a meeting, whichever act is true. Do not ask a departure score to cover a signature it never saw.

Time zones

The date is a civil date. If you leave a Gulf city in the evening and land in North America on the previous calendar day, decide which civil date is the act. The almanac is applied to the date you submit. It does not split one flight across two almanacs unless you run two windows. Daylight saving can move the clock on either end. It does not change the civil date’s officer once you have named the date.

A launch

An opening uses 开市, opening a business or a market. In this tool that activity lives with the opening-or-move occasion, alongside moving house and moving in. A launch that is only a public post, with no shop and no lease, can still be ranked on that occasion if you understand you are borrowing the opening activity. A custom occasion is the cleaner choice when the traditional list has no honest name: custom scoring uses yellow or black path and the day officer only, and it does not pretend a blog post is a shop opening.

Nothing in the score is a revenue forecast. A Success day is an officer name plus two points. It is not evidence that the offer will clear. Financial decisions stay with your numbers, your contracts, and, when you need them, a qualified adviser. The almanac does not see your margin.

If several people must ship on the same day, rank the shared civil date in the window everyone can reach. A personal birth-date penalty applies to the birth date you typed. It does not automatically apply to a co-founder’s chart unless you run the window again with that birth date. Two runs can disagree. That is a reason to talk, not a reason to treat either card as a veto over the other person.

A move

Moving house and moving in are the activity names. A day can mark one as suitable and the other as unsuitable. Because each match scores separately, a mixed listing produces a mixed rank, and the card says so. Read which name was suitable. Packing up and sleeping in the new place are different acts. If your window only contains the truck day, you still want to see whether moving house itself was the line that scored.

Weddings, funerals, and meetings have their own activity names and should not be forced through the move score. A wedding uses 嫁娶. Funeral or memorial rites use burial and offerings. A meeting uses meeting friends and signing agreements. Choosing the wrong occasion is the easiest way to get a confident rank for the wrong act.

A birth date on a move search still contributes only the year pillar after Start of Spring and the day pillar. It does not build a BaZi chart for the new address, and it does not comment on the floor plan. Address selection is outside this tool. The date of the move is inside it.

When the top day is impossible

Take the preview as a description of the window’s best row. If that row is a Sunday and the building only releases keys on Thursday, you need the other rows. Those rows are the subscription. You can still use the free day’s officer, path, and lists as a lesson in how this window is behaving, and you can shorten or shift the window to see whether a new top day appears. Shifting the window is a new question. The engine will answer it the same way every time you ask.

What you bring that the almanac cannot see

School terms, visa appointments, Ramadan schedules, shipping cutoffs, a child’s exam, a parent’s surgery: these decide feasibility. The almanac does not know them. A respectful use of the tool is to let those commitments draw the window, and to let the score sort inside the lines. Faith calendars are not overridden by a yellow-path label. A medical date is not chosen here at all.

After you have a date

Write down the civil date, the occasion you asked, the score’s reasons, and the constraint that made the date acceptable. That note is more useful in six months than a memory of “the site said it was good.” If you also keep a BaZi chart, keep it as a separate reading of the birth. The auspicious date did not recalculate your luck cycles.

Plans are $12.99 a month, $29.99 every three months, and $89.99 a year for the rest of the ranked list. An email magic link can save today’s preview and does not charge. The past-life quiz is a different product and will not choose the date for you.

What this is not

  • Not a promise of a safe flight, a successful launch, or a smooth move.
  • Not financial advice about the launch, and not legal advice about the lease.
  • Not a medical scheduling tool. Clinical care does not wait on a day officer.
  • Not an hour-by-hour BaZi of each candidate date.
  • Not a requirement to obey the top row when a real constraint rules it out.
  • Not a purchase. One preview day is free.
