Good Day Selection for English-Speaking Gulf Readers

English-speaking readers in the Gulf — citizens and residents in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and nearby — often plan weddings, travel, and shop openings with family in several countries at once. Pick a Good Day can rank a civil window for those plans using the Chinese almanac. It does so in English. It does not translate the rank into Arabic religious guidance, it does not set prayer times, and it does not replace the weekend your own office actually keeps.

Key facts

  • Submit the civil date of the event in the city where it will happen. Dubai is generally UTC+4. Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait City, Manama, and Muscat are generally UTC+3. Neither group observes daylight saving.
  • Because those zones do not spring forward, a “missing hour” problem here usually comes from a US or European guest, not from the local clock.
  • A Gulf weekend is often Friday and Saturday. It is not always that pair. From 2022, many workplaces in the Emirates and in Saudi Arabia run Saturday and Sunday instead. Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain have not all made the same change. Read your contract.
  • The ranker has no Gulf holiday table and no prayer timetable. Jumu'ah, iftar, and a national day are constraints you apply yourself.
  • Birth matching on this form is a year-branch clash and a day-pillar clash. It is not a full chart, and it is not a ten-god calendar.
  • One leading day can be previewed free. The site does not keep a single Beijing clock for Gulf readers.

Local date first

A nikah, a civil appointment, a hotel ballroom, or a trade-license start has a date on a local document. That date is what you type. If guests fly in from London or New York, write their local arrival as a separate travel question. A Friday night dinner in Jeddah can still be Friday morning in Chicago. Agree which date is “the day” before anyone compares scores. Converting the dinner into China Standard Time and ranking that converted date answers a question about Beijing, not about Jeddah.

Travel scoring watches 出行. Wedding scoring watches 嫁娶. Opening or moving watches 开市, 移徙, and 入宅. Meeting watches 会友 and 订盟. Memorial rites watch burial and offerings. A family lunch that is none of these is Custom: yellow or black path, plus Success, Open, Full, Close, or Destruction as the officer adjustments. Activity names you see on the list, including craft or study phrases, do not change a Custom total.

Office week versus the date you wish were free

Do not import a Western Saturday-Sunday as if it were universal, and do not import a Friday-Saturday week into a company that changed in 2022. List the dates you and the other decision-makers are actually off, then rank inside that list. A higher score on a working Thursday is not a reason to close a shop that cannot close. National day holidays differ by state and by year. The almanac will not remind you.

Guests, heat, and flights

Summer afternoons outdoors are a practical problem the day officer does not measure. So are school calendars for children flying in, and so is a red-eye that lands a parent during a work shift. If the only strong travel day is meteorologically or socially impossible, take the next date that works. Sha direction is printed as east, south, west, or north. It is not an instruction about which runway to use, and it is not a rule of hospitality.

Faith, without the tool speaking for it

Prayer times, fasting, and congregational worship are set by the reader’s own practice and by local announcement. This almanac does not calculate them and does not claim authority over them. If a ranked day collides with worship or with a family obligation you treat as binding, the obligation wins. A separate note on faith calendars, including Ramadan, is the right place for that boundary. This page will not schedule worship, and it will not tell you that a yellow-path day outranks a religious duty.

A birth chart is optional and separate. If you open BaZi and the city is listed, civil time in that zone is used, then apparent solar time. Gulf zones without daylight saving make the civil step simpler than a US birth in July, but the chart is still not the date ranker. Unlisted spellings of a city should be read by the chart’s own note, not guessed. Ten gods are not applied to every candidate wedding day on the good-day form.

Money, medicine, and paperwork

Trade licenses, tenancy, and maher or other financial agreements are legal and financial matters. This ranking is not advice on them. If a signing date is fixed by a ministry portal, the portal wins. Clinical appointments are not timed here. Phrases for seeing a doctor, treating illness, seeking treatment, and acupuncture are hidden and do not move the score. See a doctor when you need one, including during a fast if care cannot wait.

Peng Zu’s caution is an old daily line, shown in the English card. It is context, not a verdict on a Gulf household.

What this is not

This is not a Beijing-centered calendar for the Gulf. It is not Islamic jurisprudence and not a substitute for a local scholar, a mosque timetable, or family custom. It is not entertainment. Pick a Good Day and BaZi are professional metaphysics for guidance. They do not replace medical, legal, or financial advice. Fiction on the rest of the site is labeled as fiction and is not part of this rank.
